We started with a child listening to a watch tick.
In the 1990s, a young Andre would sit with his father, a devoted watch collector, poring over vintage catalogues late into the evening. The rhythmic tick of his father's timepieces, the weight of them in his hand, the stories behind each dial — that's where it all began. Not in a boardroom, not with a business plan. With curiosity, and a love passed down.
Years later, Andre met Iana. The passion, as it turns out, is contagious. Together they dreamed of something specific: a boutique that treated microbrands with the same seriousness that collectors do. Not a shop that carries everything — one that carries the right things, for the right reasons. Hand picked and tested. With a clear understanding that behind a brand there is a passionate person.
That became Finch Watches.
Built by collectors, for collectors
We are an authorized EU dealer for Gruppo Gamma, Direnzo, and Feynman Timekeepers, operating from IJsselstein in the Netherlands. Before Finch, we spent over a decade selling watches through forums, eBay, and Mi-Watch.it — our dedicated Gruppo Gamma store. We have sold thousands of watches. We have worn most of them.
Every brand in our boutique was chosen because we genuinely love it. We know Naoki at Gruppo Gamma, Sergio at Direnzo, Yong at Feynman. We know the story behind the watches, the decisions behind each dial, the obsessions that make a microbrand worth caring about. That knowledge goes into every recommendation we make.
A family endeavour
Finch Watches is Andre and Iana — and also the kids who lend their sharp eyes to our photoshoots, and the friends around the world who have shaped this project from the start: Christophe, Sjaak, Mattia, Iacopo, Mike, Mario, Olivier, Dennis, Anna, and many more.
This is not a warehouse with a storefront. It is a small, careful operation run by people who lose sleep over watch photography and strap pairings.
Why Finch?
There are hundreds of finch species across the world. Each one is distinct, resilient, and built to thrive — much like the microbrands we carry. Small operations, extraordinary output.
Our logo places a tiny finch on a California dial, a nod to a style dating back to the 1930s and found on some of the most iconic watches ever made — early Rolex, early Panerai. Tradition and independence, together on one face.
When you buy from us, you are joining something.
Not a loyalty programme. Not a mailing list. A community of people who think a well-made watch is worth talking about, worth waiting for, worth wearing every day.
